Water

Water is the key to life. And through life, emotion and feelings are born. This is by far my most cherished element and the one that I personally look to most often for inspiration. It is also the hardest to come up with an idea for.

Intention: My intention for the piece made here is to express how emotion is a subjective experience.

Context: This would be a performance dance piece. Kinda like the one below.

 

Audience: I've been to a modern dance show at WWU. It was very interesting to see artists use their bodies with little use of words to make art. Without words to literally guide me, the experience was highly subjective.

Medium: A stage, lighting, and dancers.

Scale: Middle world as described by Richard Dawkins

Alternatives:

  • Work on water themed based on emotion ads for promoting public transportation. "Stop fighting traffic. Hop in the stream... Enjoy the ride (save money on fuel costs too)"
  • We are about 70% water and the earth is about 70% water... coincidence? Make a poster showing a body = earth
  • A piece that shows someone greiving capturing the evaporated water from a loved one's grave, and making a water cycle out of it.
